Common Mistakes to Avoid

Sitting on the fence

Band 9 requires a 'clear position throughout'. If you just say 'both sides are okay', you lose marks.

Fix: You can agree with one side completely, or propose a 'hybrid' solution (as done in the sample), but you MUST state this clearly.

Listing too many ideas

Writing 3 or 4 weak points per paragraph prevents 'fully extended and supported' ideas (a Band 9 requirement).

Fix: Limit yourself to ONE strong idea for Side A, and ONE strong idea for Side B, and write 4-5 sentences analyzing each deeply.
